SONRA hosts ARISS contact January 12, 2013
The Society of Newfoundland Radio Amateurs (SONRA), partnering with the Royal Canadian Air Cadets and the Admiralty House Museum and Archives (SONRA Club station VO1BZM), are pleased to host an ARISS contact on Saturday January 12, 2013 at 1440 Z. It is expected that up to 100 air cadets will be present for the event, and they are all anxious to speak to Canadian Astronaut Chris Hadfield via Amateur Radio.
In making this announcement, I would like to especially thank the lead for this event, Everett Price VO1DK, RAC Atlantic Regional Director and Past President of SONRA (1991-1992), for the tremendous effort and success that he has helped his team achieve. I wish them much success and good propagation on Saturday. National media coverage on both the CBC and CTV are anticipated, so stay tuned.
I would like to especially thank our ARISS mentor Wayne Harasimovitch VE1WPH, VE1ISS for helping us through the details and preparation. Thank you Wayne!
