To start using amateur radio, you must pass an exam and become licensed by Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada.
From time to time, SONRA offers courses to help you prepare. Classes are taught by experienced hams who will help you get comfortable on the air and learn everything you need to know for the exam.
There is no requirement to take any particular course, and you are welcome to study on your own and take the exam. You can find study resources on our Links page.
