International Marconi Day in 2025 will be celebrated on April 26th. This date is the Saturday closest to April 25th, which is Guglielmo Marconi’s birthdate. SONRA will be active from Signal Hill with the callsign VO1IMD. This event is organized by the Cornish Amateur Radio Club. Nearly 50 official stations have registered to participate that were involved with Marconi. VO1IMD is one of them. Amateurs from around the world will be trying to contact at least 15 official stations to get an award that has the look of an original Marconi Stock Certificate Circa 1901. The Station will operate from 11:00 until 14:00 local time dependent on band conditions and operator availability.

Officially Signal Hill is still closed to the Public until next month, the door to the tower will have to remain locked, so give a loud bang on the door or call on VO1AAA repeater.
